Santa is coming to Joe Carlson Elementary School on November 19th to take pictures. The order form will be given to students on Monday, November 18th. Please complete the order form from Diane’s Photography and return it with the exact payment amount (no change). The order form is still needed even if you paid using the QR Code. The students taking pictures with Santa may come dressed up. The uniform dress code applies to students who are not participating.

Today, October 31, 2024, we will begin our Halloween Parade and Trunk or Treat at 1:00 p.m. All families must sign in and enter from the West Gate and may view the parade from our playground. No visitors will be allowed in the building at that time. All decorated vehicles will enter from the North Gate of the Playground and all participants may begin to set up at 12:15 p.m. Our security and staff will be there to greet you and direct you to your parking space. Our Trunk or Treat is a weather permitting event. Today is still a regular school day, and we will still have tutoring and the 21st Century after school program as scheduled . Good afternoon, Joe Carlson families! Candy donations are needed and GREATLY appreciated for our trunk-or-treat parade. Candy donations can be given to your teacher or dropped off at the front office by 10/30. Joe Carlson Families, Red Ribbon Spirit Week starts this Wednesday, 10/23/2024, and will continue until Tuesday, 10/29/2024. Wednesday is sunglasses and neon clothes day, Thursday is sports day, Friday is Pajama day, Monday is crazy hair day, and Tuesday is Red T-shirt day. REMINDER: Joe Carlson Families, We want to remind you that today, Wednesday, October 9th, is an early release at 1:00 p.m.
Also, Friday, October 11th, is early release, and students will be dismissed at 1:00 p.m. For this reason, we will not have the 21st-century program on Friday.
Fall break is next week from October 14th to October 18th. We will resume school on Monday, October 21st.

The Douglas Rotary Club and the City of Douglas will hold their 9th Annual Fly-in on October 12, 2024, at the Douglas Municipal Airport. The event will include a chance for children ages 8 through 17 to have a short flight in a light aircraft via the Young Eagles Flight Plan. If interested, please see the flyer and application form for more information.
Teachers will provide an application only to those interested. The applications must be filled out with the parent/guardian’s signature.
