Dear Wolfpack Parents/Guardians, students, and community,

Hello, Wolfpack community! I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself. I am Mr. Julian Martin, and I have been selected to be your new Wolfpack principal at Paul Huber Middle School. It is my honor to be your principal. This is my second year in the Douglas Unified School District, spending my first year at Ray Borane Middle School. I worked side-by-side with the staff to further develop the school culture toward the success of all students. My journey in education first started in the Sunnyside Unified School District. I am excited to join the Wolfpack community.

My goal as a principal is to help empower our students to be the best them they can be. We want to empower their voice and academic ability through integrity, honesty, and reliability. Our intentional direction is to have students be reliable, respectful, and responsible in developing their skills toward being community ready. We want our students to be the next leaders, teachers, business owners, or positive acting members of this great community.

In our partnership, we will focus on the following aspects to improve academically at PHMS;

1. Establish reasonable academic expectations that encourage students to strive toward mastery of content.

2. Work toward the creation of Positive Behavior Intervention Systems that meet the needs of our students, and encourage the continuation of positive behaviors.

3. Encourage students to follow the three "R's" of character; Reliable, Respectful, and Responsible.

4. To develop skills that will set the foundations of helping our students toward being college, career, and community ready by the time they leave Douglas Unified Schools.

All in all, I would like to say that I admire the Douglas community and appreciate the time and investment that the community of Douglas has for its school district. I look forward to working side-by-side with you, making our school thrive toward success.

Sincerely,

Mr. Martin

Principal at Paul Huber Middle School
