As the Douglas Unified School District Superintendent, it gives me great joy that many of our amazing educators were recognized at today's Cochise County Teacher of the Year Awards Ceremony.
It is with great pride and honor that I announce that our very own DHS teacher, Mrs. Andrea Barallardos was named Cochise County Teacher of the Year!
Congrats to all of our teachers:
Andrea Barallardos, Luis Alvarez, Luis Rivera, Ana Daniel, Perla Vasquez, Alvina Hughes, Ana Ballesteros, Josué De La Ree, and Ondrea Estrada. We are extremely proud of you and thanks for always teaching with heart!
Mrs. Barallardos joins Mr. Richard Paun and Ms. Gemma German in the Hall of Fame as Cochise Teacher Champions!

Dear Cohort 2026 DHS Student-
On Tuesday, April 4th you will be taking the ACT ASPIRE State Test as required for the Cohort of 2026 by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE).
You will be testing with your 1st-period teacher unless you have been told otherwise. Please make sure you arrive at 7:30 with a photo ID (required) to be ready for the start of the test at 8:00 am. Cellphones and smartwatches are not allowed in the testing rooms. Security will be collecting these items as you enter school (with your name and ID#) and they will be returned to you at the end of the testing session (school day). If this is of concern, we ask that you please not bring these items on campus as any student found in possession of these items may have their test, as well as the test of other students testing in the same room invalidated. Thank you.

Spring Holiday: No School and All Offices Closed on Friday, April 7th & Monday, April 10th. Thank you!

Parents/Guardians: Please be advised that there will be NO EARLY RELEASE this Wednesday, March 29th, and the following Wednesdays: April 5th, April 12th, and April 19th. This is due to State testing. Students will be released at their regular scheduled times. Thank you!

VALENTINE'S DAY FLORAL DELIVERIES: We have contacted all the local floral shops to request that all Valentine related deliveries not be made to any District school on Valentine's Day, February 14th. Your continued support of our attempts to keep distractions to the educational process in our schools at a minimum is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
