  • Child Nutrition Program
The Douglas School Child Nutrition Program is committed to providing optimal nourishment and customer satisfaction for your children in order to facilitate learning and good health. We have made several changes in the menu in order to provide healthier meals. Please read about them in our publication titled, "Eating for Good Health".

And, it's important that we each establish and maintain good eating habits. You'll function better at school, work, or play. Even just moderate under nutrition can have lasting effects on a child's development, performance at school, and his or her relationships. And, believe it or not, poor nutrition and a lack of physical activity is the number two cause of death in the United States. So, start each day right by...

    • eating a healthy breakfast
    • choosing your foods from different food groups to get a well-balanced diet
    • get enough calcium (milk, yogurt, spinach, broccoli, etc.)

Whether you bring a lunch or buy it at school, be sure that you're making smart food choices—you'll think more clearly, feel more energetic, and stay healthy and fit.
